Job summary

CW Construction is seeking an Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Montrose, CO. You will operate heavy machinery such as scrapers, bulldozers, excavators, graders, and tractors to move earth and shape terrain according to project plans.

You will read grade stakes, site markings, maps and blueprints, perform pre- and post-operation checks, and coordinate with foremen and crew to ensure work is completed safely and to specification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in construction.
• Strong safety history and reliable attendance.
• Ability to read grade stakes and blueprints.
• Excellent communication with supervisors and crew.

Responsibilities

• Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Read grade stakes, site markings, maps and blueprints to move soil.
• Safely excavate, move and grade soils per specs.
• Perform pre- and post-operation checks and report issues.
• Coordinate with crew via hand and audio signals.
• Maintain equipment and perform daily inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
