Karen Clark & Company seeks a Seismologist to join our earthquake hazard team in Boston. You will work with scientists and engineers to build global earthquake models and analyze regional seismicity data.

Requirements include a PhD in Seismology or Geophysics, strong data analysis skills, Python and GIS knowledge, and willingness to travel. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• PhD in Seismology or Geophysics with research relevant to seismic source modeling.
• Knowledge of earthquake frequency parameters and magnitude-frequency distributions.
• Experience with advanced probability and statistical methods.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze regional historical seismicity data
• Research regional tectonics, including fault structures and rupture mechanisms
• Develop magnitude-frequency relationships for seismic source zones and faults
• Develop smooth and background seismicity models
• Conduct post-event damage surveys for major global events
