Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company in Daphne, Alabama is seeking an Earthmoving Shop Technician to service and repair earthmoving equipment in a shop setting. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and component replacements, and work with a team to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requires a high school diploma, at least one year of mechanical repair experience, and a valid driver’s license. CDL/Med Card preferred; MVR required. Training provided to advance skill level.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical repairs or related technical education.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.
• MVR required; Med Card and CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Performs tasks on engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Test and adjust components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the shop as required.
