Job summary

Muon Space offers a summer internship that is full-time and on-site in Northern Virginia / DC. You will work with the Mission Innovation team to analyze remote sensing data, develop models, and explore new applications for Muon Space systems.

You will gain direct mentorship in a startup environment, contributing to feasibility studies and stakeholder discussions while collaborating with aerospace professionals to help shape future missions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's or PhD in a technical field related to Earth science, physics, or remote sensing.
• Strong foundation in first-principles problem solving and engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling with Python, MATLAB or Julia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first-principles scientific and technical analysis for remote sensing applications and use cases.
• Analyze geospatial datasets to identify applications and validate mission concepts.
• Support customer discovery and stakeholder discussions with technical materials.
• Develop models, simulations, and trade studies for feasibility assessments.
• Collaborate with a small, agile team to explore new Muon Space capabilities.
