Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health in Maui is offering an Earn & Learn Nurse Aide Training program. Participants receive free Nurse Aide Training and earn wages while attending class. Employment may run concurrent with NATP or begin after completion, with a pathway to CNA certification.

The program includes in-person instruction, a 100-hour course, and employment as a Nurse Aide at Hale Makua Wailuku after completion, followed by the Prometric exam for CNA status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Training Program is required.

Responsibilities

• Orient new residents to the unit and facility, including bathrooms, call system, shower schedule and activities calendar.
• Respond to resident calls, bells, lights, and alarms promptly; inform the Charge Nurse when needed.

Ohana's Earn & Learn Nurse Aide Training Program:

Participants receive Free Nurse Aide Training and earn wages while attending class. Work may run concurrent with Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) or commence following completion of NATP. Great opportunity to explore careers in post-acute care.

Free Course Instruction with Full-time or Part-time Employment:

• Course schedule: Saturday and Sunday from October 17, 2026 - November 28, 2026
• Duration: 100 hours, in-person instruction
• Course instruction provided by State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
• Work as a Nurse Aide will commence following program completion at Hale Makua Wailuku
• Final step will include Prometric Exam to obtain Certified Nurse Aide status

The Position:

Nurse Aides/CNA's are the primary caregivers in post-acute and long-term care settings, providing nursing care and services to residents, that include personal and restorative care and activities of daily living.

• Ohana Nurse Aides orient new residents to the unit and facility: Bathroom, call system, shower schedule, and common areas; introduce to residents; informs of meal schedule, snack times, and activities calendar.
• Nurse Aides respond to resident calls, call bells, call lights, and alarms immediately. Responds to family request. Informs Charge Nurse when required.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent / Minimum age 18 by end of Nurse Aide Training Program.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Training Program.
• Scheduled Prometric exam within 120 days of hire.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
