Job summary

Lowercarbon Capital is seeking an Associate to join our early-stage team in San Francisco. You will identify founders tackling hard problems in energy, minerals, manufacturing and heavy industry, assess both technical and commercial viability, and translate findings into a clear investment point of view.

You will talk with founders, technical experts and customers, support diligence end to end, and help shape memos, market maps and engagement with the broader ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
• Experience with frontier technology or complex industrial systems.
• Ability to reason from first principles and explain hard concepts clearly.
• Willingness to learn and hustle in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify leading founders across energy, minerals, and heavy industry.
• Assist due diligence, define key questions, and assess risks.
• Translate findings into investment memos, market maps, and POVs.
• Engage with founders, experts, and investors to shape bets.
