Job summary

Meijer in Illinois is seeking a Food Clerk to provide a friendly, helpful store experience in our Fresh departments. You will build positive connections with customers, share product knowledge, and maintain fresh, appealing displays while following safety standards.

This role supports multiple departments (Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery). Availability 5AM–2PM is required, and the position involves lifting and standing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer‑first mindset and strong service orientation.
• Willingness to learn and use store technology (POS, scanning, etc.).
• Ability to follow safety procedures and keep clean, organized displays.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
