Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Early Preschool Teacher to join our team! This position involves working with children aged 2 to 2.5 years old. The working hours are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage daily classroom activities for a group of children.
  • Follow all rules and regulations at Primrose School at Brier Creek and comply with local, state, or national regulatory agencies regarding children's health, safety, and care.
  • Continuously assess each child's developmental needs.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules based on the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Coordinate with leadership on parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive classroom environment that encourages exploration and decision-making.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and set clear behavioral expectations.
  • Handle classroom maintenance and housekeeping duties, including playground upkeep.
  • Attend all staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as per the Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Must meet the basic requirements set by the local child care regulatory agency.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, especially for handling children and emergency situations. For Infant and Toddler teachers, ability to lift infants into and out of cribs.
  • Associate degree in early childhood or related field is preferred.
  • Current NC Background Check Qualifying Letter from the Division of Child Development.
  • Current physical exam and TB test within the last year.
