POSITION PURPOSE
A Lionheart Teacher has the primary responsibility for planning, organizing, and carrying out developmental and spiritual programs for their classroom of children.
Position Overview
- Job Title: Early Preschool Teacher
- Reports To: Academy Director
- Hours: Monday - Friday from 7:00am-4:00pm
- Expected Hours: 30-40 hours per week
- Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on Experience and Education)
- Requirements: Criminal Background Check required
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Performance Indicators
- Professional Knowledge: Demonstrates understanding of the curriculum and developmental needs of children by providing relevant learning experiences. Maintains knowledge and adherence to the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers, NAC accreditation standards, and Lionheart Children’s Academy policies.
- Instructional Planning: Plans, supervises, and implements classroom programs in accordance with the Academy Director and curriculum coordinator.
- Instructional Delivery: Engages students effectively using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
- Learning Environment: Uses resources, routines, and procedures to create a respectful, positive, safe, and student-centered environment conducive to learning.
- Professionalism: Maintains commitment to ethics, communicates effectively, and participates in professional growth to enhance student learning.

Background, Experience, and Education
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
- Early education BA, AA, or CDA highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a licensed facility or 24 hours of documented pre-service training required.
- Experience in children’s ministry is a plus.
- Must meet all teacher qualifications per Texas Minimum Standards, including maintaining First-Aid and CPR certifications during employment.
