Job description

As a Teacher at Primrose School of Huebner Village located at 2410 Huebner Park San Antonio, Texas 78248, you will help young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Primrose School of Huebner Village is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of a group of children.
• Follow all rules and regulations of Primrose School of Huebner Village and applicable regulatory agencies concerning health, safety, and care of children.
• Assess each child's developmental needs regularly.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
• Create and maintain an attractive, well-organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and decision-making.
• Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children, establishing clear and consistent behavior expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
• Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Assist with other duties as determined necessary by the Director or designee.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous experience in teaching or assistant teaching in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling, safety, and emergency situations.
