Job summary

La Mère Academy is seeking a dedicated caregiver/teacher to supervise daily activities for a group of children, ensuring safety and development while implementing engaging lesson plans.

The role requires nurturing, strong communication, and adherence to childcare regulations. On-site position with competitive pay and a full benefits package, including meals and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher required; CDA preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Experience in licensed early childhood program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
• Observe health, safety, and regulatory rules for childcare.
• Assess each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
• Plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with Leadership Team.
• Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom encouraging exploration and decisions.
• Provide verbal recognition and set clear expectations for behavior.
• Attend all required staff meetings and school functions.
• Maintain professional appearance per Employee Handbook guidelines.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by leadership.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
• Willingness to attend training and staff meetings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
• Observes all rules and regulations at La Mère Academy and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
• Assesses each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule
• Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
• Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds.
• Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions.
• Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Employee Handbook
• Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.

Compensation:

• Bi-weekly pay
• Direct deposit available
• $15 - $20 an hour depending on experience
