General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform various functions across the store as needed to meet business goals, including additional tasks in specific situations.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment.
  • Maintain a clutter-free store, ensure clear egress to emergency exits, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates.
  • Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and greet customers throughout the store.
  • Respond promptly to Customer service calls and issues, escalating to Store Leadership when necessary.
  • Support the Company brand by demonstrating integrity and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean store environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Ensure merchandise is organized, replenished, and presented according to standards.
  • Assist with the receipt and merchandising of new stock, following company best practices.
  • Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
  • Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following all policies and procedures.
  • Maximize productivity by executing store best practices with a sense of urgency.

Qualifications And Skills

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership; basic math skills needed for retail transactions.

Physical Requirements/Ada

  • Use of store equipment including registers and PCs.
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial and display equipment as required.
  • Stockroom shifts require lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
