General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, greets all Customers courteously, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. They perform various tasks across store areas as needed, supporting customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
  • Create a safe shopping environment, maintain clear egress, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy.
  • Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and greet them throughout the store.
  • Respond promptly to Customer Service calls and resolve issues courteously.
  • Support the Company brand and perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness.
  • Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform daily merchandising and recovery to ensure store standards.
  • Expedite merchandise receipts and ensure proper presentation and familiarity with products.
  • Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and follow all cash handling policies.
  • Work efficiently, minimizing steps and touches to maximize productivity.

Qualifications and Skills

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership; basic math skills for retail operations.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Operate store equipment, including registers and PCs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Use janitorial and store equipment as needed.
  • Stockroom shifts require lifting over 20 pounds regularly.
