Job summary

Encompass Child Care Inc. seeks a Kitchen Prep Cook to support daily meal production and distribution across centers. You will assist the Director of Food Services in maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen and ensuring compliance with USDA, DCF, and agency policies.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday from 3:00–9:00 a.m. The role includes data entry, menu distribution, and occasional catering support, with travel between agency locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years of food service, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of large-scale food preparation and safety practices preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, production schedules and procedures accurately.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Food Services in operating a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen.
• Prepare food and supplies for distribution to Encompass centers and support meal production.
• Perform data entry and recordkeeping; distribute monthly menus.
• Ensure compliance with USDA requirements, DCF licensing, health regulations, and policies.
• Contribute to kitchen operations, events, and catering as assigned.
• Maintain inventory, process center order requests, and assist with purchasing and storage.
