Merenda Box in Conshohocken, PA is seeking a Full-Time Baker to open the bakery and lead the morning bake. You will manage daily production, scale and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and savory items, ensuring quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate has professional bakery experience, is punctual for early shifts, and can handle multiple products across different stages while following recipes and FIFO standards. ServSafe certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Professional bakery, pastry, or commercial baking experience required.
• 2+ years of professional baking experience preferred.
• Comfortable with commercial mixers, ovens, proofing equipment, and bakery tools.
• Strong dough handling, proofing, temperature control, and baking techniques.
• Organized and able to manage multiple products at once.
• Reliable and punctual for early-morning opening shifts.
• ServSafe Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Open the bakery and prepare the kitchen and ovens for the day.
• Organize and execute the morning bake and daily production.
• Scale, mix, shape, proof, bake, fill, and finish bakery products.
• Work with pastries, breads, laminated doughs, cakes, pão de queijo, savory pastries, fillings, and other daily items.
• Manage several products at different stages while keeping production on schedule.
• Monitor proofing, bake times, texture, appearance, and finished quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food‑safe work area.
• Follow recipes, production schedules, labeling, storage, and FIFO standards.
• Communicate ingredient, equipment, or quality concerns to management.
