Job description

As a baker, you’ll work with a team to ensure the freshest and best tasting artisan products our bakery is known for are available for our customers every day. You will use Wegmans recipes to produce both premade and scratch dough breads, desserts, and breakfast items. If you have a passion for baking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, then this could be the role for you!

Required Qualifications:

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery, or retail setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience baking, following recipes, and working in a bakery with dough made from scratch.
• Advanced organizational, mathematical, and time management skills.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5–20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of greater than 50 pounds occasionally. Assistance with heavy items may be available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate, and trunk movement involves moderate to high twisting, bending, and pivoting. You may be exposed to various allergens. The work environment is indoors and may involve exposure to cold (33–55°F), freezing (-20–20°F), and hot temperatures (exceeds 85°F). Basic tools and equipment include common baking utensils and ovens.
