Job Title: Lifeguard

Part time and Full-time opportunities available. Must be able to work early opening hours. (4:45am-on)

Job Purpose

  • Supervising the pool and surrounding areas by using preventative and proactive skills to maintain safety for all aquatic participants and observers while providing genuine hospitality. Prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies both in the water and on the deck by using good scanning skills. Provide care for injuries or sudden illness until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

Operational

  • Showing attention to detail in keeping accurate and complete records.
  • Follow rotation, break and maintenance schedules.
  • Keep deck and pool clean and organized.
  • Know Emergency Response Plan (E.R.P.)
  • Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift.

Communication

  • Be knowledgeable and informative demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhood.
  • Be approachable and use good problem-solving skills assuring that the members are certain that we care about their well-being.

Professional and Technical Knowledge

  • Ongoing Club Fit Trainings in 1huddle training platform.
  • Professional Certifications
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Current Lifeguard certification

Teamwork

  • Be knowledgeable of all Club Fit programs and schedules, not limited to the Aquatics Department.
  • Consistent communication with co-workers.
  • Support the lifeguarding team by subbing shifts when available.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by business needs.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements.
  • Attendance at training meetings as scheduled.

Pay Range: $16.50 - $18/hour.

Reporting Structure

Direct Report to the Aquatics Director.
