Sylvania is seeking tutors to support a small-group literacy program for students in Grades K-2, with emphasis on Grade 1, funded to help grow early reading skills using the Springboard program and Dibels assessments.

The program runs for eight weeks starting October 26, 2026, with tutoring sessions either 2:15-3:15 on Mon/Tue/Thu or 90 minutes two days per week, as arranged by the School Program Coordinator. Open to current staff members at each elementary school.

Job Summary

• Funding will provide tutors to work with students in small groups in Grades K-2 with an emphasis on Grade 1


• 8-week program beginning October 26, 2026


• Tutors will work from 2:15-3:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays or for 90 minutes two days per week, as determined by the school Program Coordinator


• Tutoring will be provided for students in literacy using the Springboard program and using in district Dibels assessments


• Goal of program is to improve student achievement in early reading skills


• Available to current staff members at each elementary school

Compensation

• Curriculum rate of $50.00 per hour
