Job summary

KairosPDX in Portland, OR seeks a full-time Teacher Assistant- Early Learning to join our learning community. You will support teachers in delivering an inquiry-based, culturally responsive curriculum for preschool children, incorporating mindfulness, studio art, STEM, and social-emotional growth.

In a diverse, equity-centered environment, you will help implement daily plans, maintain a safe classroom, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s preferred.
• Valid TSPC license for the grade level taught.
• Demonstrated Highly Qualified Teacher Status (No Child Left Behind).
• At least 1–2 years of elementary classroom experience; 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team and manage a classroom of preschool children with focus on safety, engagement, and learning.
• Follow daily lesson plans and implement current curriculum with teachers.
• Communicate with families and coordinate with school staff to support student growth.
• Assist in planning and supervising field trips and classroom activities.
