Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications for Aide: 0-12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field; Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting.

Qualifications for Associate Teacher: 12 ECE core semester units or Child Development Associate Teacher Permit; 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting.

Qualifications for Teacher: AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field; 2-5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting.

Qualifications for all positions: CPR and First Aid Certified preferred; Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam; Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children.
  • Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions, and practicing good health habits.
  • Knowledge of High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Desired Results Developmental Profile and/or ITERS, ECERS preferred.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
  • Prepare meals/snacks, maintain classroom materials, and prepare supplies required for daily activities.
  • Assist children with diapering/toileting needs.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records using a digital sign in/out system.
  • Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
