Job summary

Community Health Programs Inc. in the Berkshires seeks a part-time Early Learning Specialist to support families through home visits, reading and play-based activities, and parent coaching.

The role advances CHP’s mission to improve child readiness and family well-being by empowering caregivers and promoting early literacy and language skills. Responsibilities include training, weekly meetings, twice-weekly home visits with two- and three-year-olds, documentation, and safeguarding

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Life Related Experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual candidate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Completes a minimum of 16-hours of training prior to beginning home visits.
• Attends and participates in weekly supervisory training and staff meetings.
• Visits with assigned families in their homes twice weekly, demonstrating reading, play, and verbal interaction with young children and their caregivers.
• Completes required paperwork weekly, including anecdotal reports and assessments.
• Keeps all family information confidential except as required by law.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 / hour

Hours: Part-Time 5hrs-19.5hrs/week

Position Requirements

Early Learning Special Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes a minimum of 16-hours of training prior to beginning home visits.
• Attends and participates in weekly supervisory training (minimum two-hour) staff meetings.
• Visits with assigned families, in their homes, on a twice weekly basis, demonstrating reading, play, and verbal interaction behaviors with two or three-year-old children and their parents or primary caretakers.
• Completes required paperwork on a weekly basis, including preparing written anecdotal reports on each visit and conducting regular child development and parent-child interaction assessments.
• Keeps all family information confidential except as required by law.
