Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a dedicated Associate position for Early Childhood Education. You will supervise preschool students and assist teachers in group or individual settings, ensuring safety and positive interactions throughout the day.

Job description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Supervise students.
• Under the direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
• Consistently monitor student's learning and behaviors.
• Be available for any student need including health, toileting, behavior, and self help skills.
• To attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.

CLASSIFICATION

• Teacher Associates
• Seven hours and thirty minutes (7.5) per day
• 4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• $17.26/hr

Preparation, Experience, Skills

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.?
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
• Willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Enjoy working with preschool age children.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
