• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and listen effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks related to classroom instruction under the supervision of a certified teacher.
• Guides independent study and enrichment work as directed by the teacher.
• Assists individual students who need special attention.
• Assists the teacher in preparing instructional materials for classroom use.
• Assists with routine classroom clerical duties in hard copy and electronically.
• Supports use of assistive technology/adaptive devices as needed.
• Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Tutors and assists children individually or in small groups.
• Enforces school policies governing students.
• Coordinates with teachers to align instructional efforts.
• Presents subject matter under teacher guidance using lectures or demonstrations.
• Observes progress and records data relevant to student performance.
• Assists with bulletin boards, displays, equipment, and demonstrations.
• Organizes and supervises games and recreational activities.
• Provides extra assistance to students with special needs.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
