Job summary

Taney County Partnership is seeking a Child Care Floater to support the Y's Early Childhood program in Branson. The role provides flexible support across classrooms, helps maintain licensing ratios, and ensures children receive quality care in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include supervising children, building positive relationships with families and staff, adapting to changing schedules, and assisting with classroom organization and activities while following safety

Summary

The position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Child Care Floater provides flexible support throughout the Early Childhood program by assisting classrooms, maintaining smooth daily operations, and ensuring children receive quality care in a safe and nurturing environment.

Essential Functions

• Float between classrooms throughout the day to provide support where needed.
• Check in regularly with Lead and Assistant Teachers to assess classroom needs and assist accordingly.
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain appropriate licensing ratios and smooth program operations.
• Support classrooms during high‑need times including meals, transitions, rest time, outdoor play, and staff breaks.
• Assist with supervising children and maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and program leadership.
• Adapt quickly to changing schedules, classroom environments, and staffing needs throughout the day.
• Utilize sound judgement and maintain professionalism while working in fast‑paced and high‑demand situations.
• Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, sanitising, and preparation of materials and activities.
• Ensure YMCA policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with staff members and leadership regarding classroom needs, concerns, or incidents.
• Support children in need and assist with behaviour guidance using positive and respectful approaches.
• Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, and program activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
