Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is hiring an Assistant Center Director, Early Learning at our Auburn location. This full-time, non-exempt position supports day-to-day supervision of a childcare site and leads a safe, quality program within hours 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

You’ll plan activities, oversee staff, and ensure strong family communication while upholding YMCA values. Compensation includes benefits and paid time off, with a starting pay range of $32.00–$34.00 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Written proof of education, including a current CDA or minimum college credits as required by DEL (e.g., 45 credits in Early Childhood Education).
• Two years or more of experience working with children kindergarten aged and younger.
• Experience overseeing, planning, and implementing group activities.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Caring, and Passion for Excellence.
• Pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccinations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure planning and implementation of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate childcare site staff/volunteers.
• Maintain required staff/child ratios and conduct staff meetings/trainings.
• Professionally communicate confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians, including newsletters and conferences.
• Recruit new enrollments and manage site supplies.
