Job description

Job Summary: The Early Learning Center Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of our center, ensuring that children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment. The director manages staff, develops and implements programs, and ensures compliance with the church and all relevant regulations and policies.

Central Functions:
1. ELC Ambassador
2. Church Connector
3. Vision Caster
4. Staff Developer

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily operations of the early learning center, including staffing, program development, and facilities management.

* Hire, train, and supervise all center staff, ensuring that they meet all qualifications and are providing excellent care and education to children.

* Provide leadership and support to center staff, including conducting regular staff meetings, offering professional development opportunities, and evaluating staff performance.

* Develop and implement programs that promote the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children, including curriculum design, lesson planning, and assessment.

* Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, community partners, and regulatory agencies, ensuring that the center is in compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

* Manage the center’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately and effectively.

* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of center programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure that children are receiving high-quality care and education.

* Foster a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork, professional development, and a commitment to excellence.

* Stay up to date with current research, trends, and best practices in early childhood education, and incorporate innovative ideas into the center’s curriculum and operations.

* Serve as an ambassador for the center, promoting its mission and values within the community and within Harbor Church.

* Update and interact with the HELC Oversight Team monthly on educational excellence, financial viability, and church/regulatory alignment.

* Establish illness and emergency procedures and train staff appropriately.

* Implement a strategic plan and goals in keeping with the mission of program.

* Lead regular professional development opportunities for staff.

Qualifications:
* Associates degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.

* Must meet state licensing requirements for large center director.

* At least five years of experience in early childhood education, with a demonstrated track record of success in program management and staff supervision.

* Knowledge of best practices in early childhood education, including developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum design, and assessment.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.

* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve high levels of performance.

* Knowledge of applicable regulations and policies related to early childhood education, including licensing, accreditation, and safety.
