Job summary

Metro Therapy, Inc. in New York City area (a Powerback Pediatrics company) seeks qualified Special Instruction Specialists to provide high-quality services under IFSPs.

You will perform evaluations, monitor child progress, and coach families to promote skill development in daily routines. The role involves developing individualized treatment plans to improve social, communication, play, and adaptive skills, with participation in IFSP and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of the NYS teaching certifications listed above.
• Certification or eligibility to provide Special Instruction through the NYS EI program is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality Special Instruction Services in accordance with children's IFSPs.
• Perform evaluations and ongoing assessments and track child progress.
• Provide parent coaching and teach strategies to promote skill development during daily routines.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies to improve social interaction, communication, play skills, and adaptive skills.
• Participate in IFSP meetings, team meetings, and case conferences.

Education

Teacher of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired

Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH)

Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)

Certification or eligibility to provide Special Instruction through NYS EI
