Job summary

School of Imagination in Dublin, CA seeks an Early Intervention Specialist to lead our toddler classroom (18 months to 3 years) with or at risk for developmental delays. You will blend classroom leadership, caregiver coaching, and team collaboration to ensure high-quality, individualized support in a nurturing setting.

You will conduct developmental assessments, prepare progress reports, and coordinate with OTs, SLPs, RBTs, and the Program Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or related field required
• Minimum of 12 ECD units required
• At least 2 years with infants/toddlers with special needs in home or classroom setting

Responsibilities

• Lead an early intervention class for 18 months to 3 years, with collaborative curriculum development and individualized activities
• Coach and empower caregivers to support child development at home and in the community
• Conduct developmental assessments across domains using standardized tools such as DAYC-2
• Prepare progress reports and maintain session notes
• Monitor and track each child’s goals for measurable progress
• Supervise and support classroom team through coaching, observation, evaluations, trainings, and meetings
• Oversee daily classroom operations and compliance with licensing and timelines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including OTs, SLPs, RBTs, BCBAs and the Program Director

Job description

Position: Early Intervention Specialist
Location: School of Imagination & Happy Talkers, Dublin, CA (onsite)
Schedule: Full-time, hourly. Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:15 pm
Pay: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on education and experience
Training stipend: $3,000, paid on successful completion of your first 90 days

About the Role

The Early Intervention Specialist leads our classroom for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years with, or at risk for, developmental delays such as autism. You will blend classroom leadership, developmental assessment, caregiver coaching, and team collaboration so every child receives individualized, high-quality support in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

What You'll Do

• Lead an early intervention class for children 18 months to 3 years, including collaborative curriculum development and individualized activities
• Coach and empower caregivers to support their child's development, so goals carry over at home and in the community
• Conduct developmental assessments across domains using standardized tools such as the DAYC-2
• Prepare thorough developmental progress reports and maintain accurate session notes
• Monitor and track each child's goals to support measurable progress
• Supervise and support your classroom team through coaching, observation, evaluations, training, and regular team meetings
• Oversee daily classroom operations and compliance, including preparedness, state licensing requirements, and curriculum timelines
• Collaborate closely with your interdisciplinary team: OTs, SLPs, RBTs, BCBAs, classroom staff, and the Program Director

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, or a related field (required)
• Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Development/Education units (required)
• At least 2 years working with infants and toddlers with special needs, in a home-based or classroom setting
• Demonstrated experience leading classes, conducting developmental assessments, writing progress reports, and building individualized goals
• Familiarity with Early Start, IFSP goals, and the Early Start Denver Model preferred, or a strong willingness to learn them
• Strong understanding of infant and toddler development and the caregiver-child relationship
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass a TB test and criminal background clearance, and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification
