Early Intervention Official Designee, Bureau of Early Intervention

Join to apply for the Early Intervention Official Designee, Bureau of Early Intervention role at NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene oversees programs supporting physical, socio-emotional health, and health equity for NYC families and children. The division includes the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health, and the Bureau of Administration. Responsibilities
  • Facilitate IFSP meetings with families, interventionists, and service coordinators, ensuring compliance with SDOH regulations and NYC EIP policies, within mandated timelines, using Microsoft Outlook and NYEIS for data entry and case management.
  • Complete procedures as outlined in the NYC Policy and Procedure Manual and NYS Regulations.
  • Ensure all documentation related to evaluations and IFSP processes, including service and billing paperwork, is accurately completed to maintain service continuity for EI children.
  • Respond to, prepare for, and participate in mediations and fair hearings as assigned. Attend scheduled meetings inside and outside the Regional Office.
  • Communicate professionally with EI providers, families, service coordinators, and colleagues. Report concerns and request technical assistance as needed.

Preference given to individuals knowledgeable about child development, delays, disabilities, family-centered services, and EI regulations. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Social Sciences, Health Care, Physical Sciences, or related fields; AND
  • At least four years of progressive experience in health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation, and analysis; OR
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration, or related disciplines; AND
  • At least three years of relevant experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience; AND
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
