Job summary

The Dimock Center in Roxbury, MA is hiring a Toddler Teacher for its Early Head Start program. The role focuses on creating nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environments and implementing individualized curricula for infants and toddlers.

The position requires MA EEC teacher certification or CDA/comparable credential and experience with diverse children, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8:45am–3:15pm, onsite.

Qualifications

• MA EEC teacher certification required.
• Minimum of a CDA credential or comparable credential with training in infant/toddler development.
• Minimum of two years of experience with ethnically, linguistically, and/or economically diverse children and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly lesson plans with the co-teacher that align with Massachusetts Early Learning Standards and Head Start outcomes.
• Conduct screenings and observations to inform individualized instruction and referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records (attendance, meals, incidents, observations) and support IPDP goals with supervision.
• Collaborate with families to engage in Parent-Teacher conferences and home visits per schedule.
• Provide safe, supervised classroom environments and practice positive discipline.
