Early Head Start Teacher at Pope Head Start

Job Details

This is a full-time position based at the Pope County Early Learning Center in Golconda, Illinois. It offers a benefits package including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer-sponsored cafeteria plan.

Responsibilities
  • Develop weekly plans and implement age-appropriate curriculum to support all areas of children's development.
  • Provide routines such as naps, diapering, and feeding, coordinating with parent or caregiver wishes to ensure consistency.
  • Administer developmental screenings within 45 days of enrollment.
  • Complete referrals and participate in IEP/IFSP meetings as needed.
  • Maintain online portfolios documenting each child's progress and development.
  • Work cooperatively with co-teachers, staff, and volunteers using a team approach.
  • Ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Participate in family-style meals and snacks, and complete related records.
  • Conduct family staff conferences and home visits as required.
  • Assist families with transitions from Early Head Start to Head Start.
  • Perform any other duties necessary to meet program requirements.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements include being at least 19 years old, holding an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related field with at least 18 hours in Early Childhood, or an Infant/Toddler CDA Credential. A Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood with experience is preferred. Transcripts are required if the degree is not in Early Childhood.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $17.66 - $22.49 hourly.
