The Early Head Start Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting school readiness and monitoring developmental outcomes while providing responsive caregiving and developmentally appropriate and inclusive learning experiences for enrolled children, specifically infants and toddlers. The Early Head Start Teacher Assistant is also responsible for assisting in creating and supporting a positive high-quality early learning environment, and the overall educational emphasis of the classroom in alignment with the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework; Birth to Five and the Texas PreK guidelines.
Child Development Associate Credential (age-specific, or all level).
Ability to obtain and demonstrate a basic understanding of child development, Center for Transforming Lives policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements (including but not exclusively Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers).
Ability to learn to appropriately offer basic feedback to parents about a child’s day-to-day interaction and begin to build expertise and understanding to suggest and recommend actions.
