Job summary

Acelero Learning is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher (Infant/Toddler) to support a classroom of 6-8 children birth to 3 years old. You will collaborate with a partner teacher to implement the Creative Curriculum and promote school readiness through developmentally appropriate activities.

You’ll develop individualized plans, reflect diverse learning styles, and document progress while supporting social, language, and cognitive development in a caring environment.

Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA or AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field or willingness to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA within one year of employment.
• Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.

Responsibilities

• Develops individual learning plans for each child including goal setting based on identified needs and prescriptions for objectives and activities to meet established child outcomes.
• Plans and implement lesson plans that advance cognitive and physical development toward school readiness goals, following the program’s curriculum and reflecting learning styles of each child.
• Collaborates with a partner Teacher in preparation and posting of daily lesson plans for parents, volunteers, and visitors.
• Implements daily lesson plans in response to children's needs and interests with observations and record-keeping.

Early Head Start Teacher (Infant/Toddler Teacher)

The Early Head Start Teacher (Infant/Toddler Teacher) is responsible for working collaboratively with his/her partner Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 6-8 children of mixed ages from birth to 3 years of age. The position also works with a team of other classroom teachers and family members to implement the Creative Curriculum for Infant/Toddlers to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities.

What You’ll Do

• Develops individual learning plans for each child including goal setting based on identified needs and prescriptions for objectives and activities to meet established child outcomes.
• Plans and implement lesson plans that advance the cognitive and physical development of children, promote progress toward school readiness goals, including social emotional, language, emergent literacy and math, and problem-solving abilities, follow the program’s written curriculum, providing ample opportunities for natural play and hands on experiences and reflecting the learning styles of individual children in the group, support the social and emotional development of children.
• Implements developmentally and linguistically appropriate experiences appropriate to age, language and culture of children served.
• Collaborates with a partner Teacher in the preparation of daily lesson plans; posts them for parents, volunteers, and visitors in the classroom.
• Implements daily lesson plans in response to children’s needs and interests incorporating observations, anecdotal record keeping, knowledge of early childhood development and the key experiences.
• Provides support for learning and language development through active facilitation, expansion of cognition and communication, and modeling and supporting high-quality language.
• Implements child-centered daily routines and learning environment that encourages the development of age-appropriate positive social interactions, active exploration/ engagement in learning, and self-motivation (curiosity) to promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.
• Provides emotional support through establishing a positive climate, being aware of and responsive to children, and encouraging child expression and autonomy.
• Uses strategies for behavior guidance, such as communicating clear expectations, being proactive and using effective and positive redirection; provides positive guidance and discipline supporting children as they acquire readiness skills for kindergarten and beyond.

What You’ll Bring

• Infant/Toddler CDA or AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field or willingness to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA within one year of employment.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
• Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
