Job summary

MET in Texas is seeking an Early Head Start educator to implement the EHS curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards in our classrooms. You will prepare daily lesson plans with both indoor and outdoor activities, tailored to the needs and interests of infants and toddlers.

You will work with families, emphasize multicultural education, support family-style meals, and rely on strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills while lifting up to 50 lbs and coping with stress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience working with families and young children preferred.
• Detail and multi-task oriented.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to cope with stress and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implement the EHS curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards for Early Head Start classrooms.
• Prepare daily lesson plans in advance that include indoor and outdoor activities.
• Develop plans that are individualized based on each infant/toddler's needs and interests.
• Incorporate multicultural education materials and family-style meals where appropriate.
• Prioritize safety and maintain organized records and materials.
