Kansas Children\'s Service League in Liberal, KS is hiring an Early Head Start Childhood Educator for a full-time role. The Educator will oversee classroom activities, child supervision, and health and safety standards while supporting families.

Expected schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional evenings or weekends. The position offers a competitive wage up to $16.53 per hour and a benefits package with medical, dental, vision, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Infant/Toddler CDA certification preferred or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
• Must read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Demonstrated awareness of challenges/strengths of families with low income or special needs.
• At least one year of paid experience working with infants and toddlers.

JOB SUMMARY

The Early Head Start Childhood Educator is responsible for all aspects of the classroom, child supervision, and care. The position is responsible for child health, development, and safety. The Educator supervises classroom activities, complies with mandated outcomes, program rules, applicable laws and program standards are met.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain and regularly refresh a safe, age appropriate, welcoming, and trauma-informed classroom environment for enrolled children.
• Provide accurate, timely, record and data keeping and reporting.
• Attend trainings as instructed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certification from the Council for Professional Recognition, preferred education listed below or the ability to obtain a CDA within two-years from hire date.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Demonstrated awareness of the challenges and strengths of children and families living with lower incomes and/or special needs.
• At least one year of paid experience working with infants and toddlers.

Preferred

• Associate degree or greater in child development or early childhood education. Equivalent coursework will be considered for candidates without a degree but have completed 60 or more credit hours.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend Spanish.
• Paid experience in a licensed childcare setting.
