A vacancy for a full-time Early Head Start Child Development Associate exists within the Early Head Start Program in the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This is a 260-day position, working with infants and toddlers, located in West Chester.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associate's Degree, or willingness to attain CDA within one year required
• Previous experience working in a childcare/preschool setting preferred
• Bilingual/Bicultural preferred
• Current (within one year) State Criminal, Child Abuse & FBI Fingerprint, NSOR Clearances required
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
• Two professional written letters of reference

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Child Development Specialist in planning and executing early childhood activities
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with adults and children
• Assist the teacher in caring for children

Salary

$35,984/yr. - $47,216/year

Placement on scale based on years of experience

Location

CCIU Early Discovery Center, 530 E. Union Street, West Chester, PA

Schedule

8 hours per day; 5 days per week; 260 days per year
