IREX is seeking an Early Grade Assessment Specialist in Amman, Jordan, to support the development and implementation of literacy and numeracy assessment tools for KG–G3 learners. You will work with MoEHRD and MEL teams to ensure culturally appropriate, robust instruments and effective field protocols.

The role emphasizes data quality, teacher guidance, and practical recommendations for improvement, with no direct staff management responsibilities. Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or closely related field.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in Jordan.
• Minimum three years of experience in early-grade learning assessment or related education programming.
• Experience with tools such as ISELA, EGRA, IDELA is preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic and professional working proficiency in English.

Mansioni

• Support development, adaptation, piloting, and refinement of early-grade literacy, numeracy, diagnostic, and formative assessment tools.
• Coordinate assessor training, field readiness, and calibration activities.
• Review data collection forms, check completeness, and support data cleaning and reporting.
• Translate diagnostic findings into actionable guidance for teachers, supervisors, and technical teams.
• Coordinate with MoEHRD and partners on quality assurance, safeguarding, and data privacy.
