Discovery Years is looking for an exemplary teacher for our site. This candidate must have a strong work ethic, the ability to take direction, and communicate well with both children and coworkers. Professionalism is a must.
This candidate is going to provide a nurturing and safe environment for our students to help develop and reach age-appropriate milestones. This candidate will demonstrate good judgment and engage with each of our little ones using Creative Curriculum.
This candidate must be a fun-loving and caring individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young children. Our teachers are highly responsible and highly reliable! We are looking for a positive role model for our young students! This is a year-round position. This candidate must be professional and ready to go on day 1. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children.
- A desire to make every moment a teachable one.
- A commitment to nurturing, inspiring, and delighting the children in your care.
- A passion for creating lifelong learners.
- Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director and the Board of Education.
- Observes all rules and regulations about the health, safety, and care of children.
- Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times.
- Assist in the maintenance of the classroom. Each classroom is to be neat, clean and clutter-free.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Department of Education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position.
- 1+ years of teaching experience, ages Infant-PreK.
- Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
- Highly professional and dependable.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
- Strong organization skills, able to multitask, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies.
