We’re Hiring a Registered Behavior Technician / Teacher
Autism From The Start® is a playful and purposeful early intervention center for children with autism. We are passionate, innovative, and driven to make a unique and transformative mark on the field of autism early intervention. We are currently looking for individuals to work on our teams and provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to sweet, young children with autism.
Technicians (Teachers) will work under the guidance and supervision of a board‑certified and licensed behavior analyst. Applicants will deliver ABA intervention directly to children through the age of kindergarten using a variety of methodologies. Playfulness, an ability to genuinely connect with children, experience with toddlers & preschoolers, and a passion for autism and children under the age of six is essential. Prior experience working with children with autism as young as 2 years old is desired.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver ABA (applied behavior analysis) intervention to children up to kindergarten age.
- Carry out behavior intervention programs in a one‑on‑one situation.
- Take data on progress within a set of goals.
- Provide positive behavior supports to reduce unwanted behaviors.
- Utilize relationship‑based techniques to increase and maintain active engagement.
- Utilize applied behavior analytical strategies (ABA) to teach skills.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 45 pounds.
- Climb on playground equipment.
- Engage in physical play with children (running, swinging, spinning, crawling, squatting).
- Maintain an elevated heart rate during therapy sessions with children.
- Run faster than a 5‑year‑old.
- Pick up and transport children safely up to 100 yards in distance.
- Walk up and down stairs multiple times a day.
- Push and pull children up to 45 pounds on wagons, wheelchairs, baskets, etc.
- Repeatedly bend over while assisting or playing with children.
- Possess fine motor dexterity.
- Sing, dance, and clap as expected.
- Sit on the floor without back support for extended periods.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and prior experience working one‑on‑one with young children on the spectrum (required).
- Experience with behavior intervention programs, data collection, and positive behavior supports (preferred).
- Experience with toddlers and preschoolers (preferred).
- Passion for autism and under‑six children (required).
