Job summary

Bright Horizons in Richmond, VA is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in person at our early education center. You will help with hands-on activities, communicate with families about daily milestones, and ensure a safe, clean classroom.

This full-time role requires 18+ with a HS diploma and background checks; CDA/Associate/Bachelor in early education preferred. You may pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through Bright Horizons.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands‑on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements as defined by the appropriate State agency, including reporting any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the agency and informing the director.
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or in nearby locations.
