Summary

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with children and adults, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns.

Duties

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
• Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security.
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and standards.
• Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
• Engage in continuous professional development for quality improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and basic computer skills.
• High energy, teamwork attitude, and ability to work well with staff, children, and parents.
• Understanding of child development.
• CPR and First Aid certification for infants/children/adults.
• Clear background check.
• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or CDA.
• Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
