Position Overview

We are seeking a joyful, nurturing, and Christ-loving educator to serve as a K2 or K3 Teacher, working with children 2½ years old or 3 years old. This teacher will provide a structured, loving, and developmentally appropriate environment that lays the foundation for our Formation Academy with the goal to develop a love for reading and learning, while reinforcing Biblical truths and habits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-honoring classroom environment.
  • Plans and implements age-appropriate activities that encourage spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Incorporate developmentally appropriate pedagogy such as memorization, rich language exposure, music, and habits of attention and obedience.
  • Utilizes and follows pre-k courses of study.
  • Assess individual students and the overall class needs to guide instruction.
  • Set learning objectives and design purposeful, developmentally appropriate lessons.
  • Lead engaging activities using varied teaching methods to effectively meet learning goals.
  • Promote and uphold consistent behavior expectations to maintain a positive, productive classroom environment.
  • Use Scripture and prayer as part of daily routines.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with early childhood staff and participate in professional development.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and oral communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to school policies, administrative procedures, local board policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and model high standards of professional ethics and leadership.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning space.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable child care regulations and school policies.

Qualifications

  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the school's statement of faith.
  • A love for young children and a calling to Christian education.
  • Prior experience in early childhood education (preferably 2+ years).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • CDA, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
