Job summary

Growing Places is seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to join our teaching team. You will observe and implement curriculum, plan age-appropriate activities, and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment.

You will work with teachers and parents, participate in conferences, and support ongoing professional development. Requirements include a high school diploma, background check, CPR/First aid, and 1 year of classroom experience; 9 ECE credits are preferred, with training offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Background check clearance required.
• 1 year of experience with young children in a classroom.
• CPR/First aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• 9 credits in Early Childhood Education preferred; training offered.

Responsibilities

• Observe, coordinate and implement curriculum with developmentally appropriate practices.
• Lead by example and coach teaching team members.
• Plan activities to promote social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain communications with parents through reports and conferences.
• Ensure center policies and state regulations are met.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and security of children.
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Support ongoing professional development.
