Job summary

Growing Places is seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to join our teaching team. You will observe and implement curriculum, plan age-appropriate activities, and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment.

You will work with teachers and parents, participate in conferences, and support ongoing professional development. Requirements include a high school diploma, background check, CPR/First aid, and 1 year of classroom experience; 9 ECE credits are preferred, with training offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Background check clearance required.
• 1 year of experience with young children in a classroom.
• CPR/First aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• 9 credits in Early Childhood Education preferred; training offered.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Observe, Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Must be able to pass a background check
• 9 credits in ECE prefered but we are willing to train the right candidate
• CPR/first aid certified or willing to become certified
• 1 year experience working with young children in a classroom setting
