  • Must successfully complete background checks and fingerprinting.
  • Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and Standard Precautions certifications as required.
  • Must complete required training and ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children, families, coworkers, and leadership.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely supervise and care for young children.

Job description

The Early Childhood Teacher provides a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children at Victory Montessori and Childcare Center. This position is responsible for the care, supervision, and education of assigned children and for implementing curriculum and classroom activities consistent with the direction of the Director, the philosophy of the Center, and applicable State of Colorado requirements.

The Early Childhood Teacher serves as a positive role model for children and works collaboratively with families, coworkers, and leadership to support each child's growth and development.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Essential Responsibilities
Classroom & Curriculum
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate learning experiences and classroom activities consistent with the curriculum approved by the Director.
  • Prepare and maintain lesson plans and make them available to families and leadership as required.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  • Adapt activities and interactions to meet the developmental needs of individual children.
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming, and age-appropriate classroom environment.
Child Supervision & Safety
  • Maintain active supervision of children at all times and remain aware of the number and location of children in your care.
  • Follow all required child-to-staff ratios, supervision practices, health procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Follow all applicable rules and regulations established by Colorado licensing authorities, public health agencies, and local fire and safety authorities.
  • Follow established procedures for emergencies, injuries, illnesses, medication, and other health or safety concerns.
  • Promptly communicate concerns regarding a child's health, safety, development, or well-being to the appropriate individual.
Guidance & Child Development
  • Model and teach appropriate behavior, kindness, respect, courtesy, and positive social interactions.
  • Provide consistent, fair, age-appropriate, and positive guidance to children.
  • Build supportive relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Approach challenging behaviors with patience, consistency, and developmentally appropriate strategies.
Family & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding their child's classroom experience, development, and daily needs.
  • Work cooperatively with teachers, support staff, leadership, and other Victory Montessori and Childcare Center team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, employees, and Center information.
  • Participate in classroom transitions, special activities, and other Center responsibilities as assigned.
Professional Expectations
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities throughout the year.
  • Maintain all certifications, training, and documentation required for the position.
  • Follow Victory Montessori and Childcare Center policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Maintain dependable and punctual attendance and communicate absences or scheduling concerns according to established procedures.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned by the Director.
Compensation

Starting pay range: $17.50–$20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
