Summary

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with children and adults to meet children's needs, guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain communication with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and clean classroom environment.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Keep accurate records and files.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with staff, children, and parents.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Clear background check and health screening.
  • Associate Degree in early childhood education or related field with 30+ credits in ECE (preferred).
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including walking, handling objects, and visual requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Previous experience.
