Job summary

Primrose School of North Richardson at Lookout in Richardson, TX is hiring a Support Teacher to plan and implement activities promoting social, emotional, cognitive and physical development in line with the Balanced Learning approach.

The role involves supervising a classroom of children, following lesson plans, maintaining a safe, engaging environment and supporting daily operations as needed; benefits include health insurance, PTO, dental insurance and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. to handle children and assist with infant care when needed.

Responsibilities

• Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
• Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to health, safety and care of children.
• Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with Primrose Balanced Learning.
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions.
• Provides verbal recognition and clear, consistent expectations for children's behavior.
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and housekeeping of the classroom, common areas and playgrounds.
• Maintains professional appearance according to the school's Employee Handbook.
• Assists in other capacities that the Director or designee determines is necessary.
