Job Purpose

The Substitute Associate Teacher will work under supervision at assigned locations, caring for and instructing preschool children, supporting social, physical, and mental development, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with lesson planning, serving meals, and supporting developmental assessments.

Position Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with staff in planning and implementing lessons
  • Supervise children and conduct safety checks
  • Prepare snacks and meals, maintain cleanliness
  • Assist with hygiene routines and developmental assessments
  • Communicate with parents and support classroom setup
  • Travel between various school locations, with a minimum of 15 miles
Requirements

Qualifications: Responsible adult with passion for working with children, team player, organized, good communication skills, basic computer skills desirable.

Experience: 6 months to 1 year working with preschool children, preferably in Head Start; must be at least 18; must provide DOJ clearance and Livescan.

Education: Minimum 12 ECE/CD units; AA degree or higher preferred.

Licenses & Permits: CPR/First Aid, valid driver’s license, proof of DOJ clearance.

Special Requirements: T.B. test, health screening, immunizations, COVID vaccination, physical demands including lifting up to 25 lbs, outdoor/indoor supervision.
