Job summary

A leading university seeks a motivated individual to fill the role of Early Childhood Student Assistant Teacher. This temporary position will assist in supervising children and implementing educational activities at the Child Development Center from September 2024 to May 2025. Applicants should have a passion for nurturing young minds and preferably possess Child Development units along with CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate students must be registered in a minimum of six Fall/Spring units.
  • Prior experience working at a child care center is preferred.
  • Completion of required Child Development units.

  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Arrive to work promptly.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
  • Supervise and manage children in care.
  • Supervise and implement daily activities, curriculum and routines.
  • Assist co-teachers in daily classroom preparation work and clean up of rooms.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with parents and other center staff.
  • Establish a supportive and nurturing relationships with children and families.
  • treat children in a positive manner that encourages individuality and positive self- esteem.
  • Maintain knowledge of all growing regulations and ensure all health and safety protocols.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates completion of a minimum of 15 Child Development units (with passing grades).
  • Possesses a valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrates previous experience working at a child care center.

  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

  • $16.00 per hour
