POSITION AVAILABLE
Full-time Early Childhood Special Education long-term substitute teaching position at New Hope Learning Center or other district building as determined by program leadership. This assignment is available from March 17, 2025 through June 4, 2025 with a potential contracted position for the 2025-2026 school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans curriculum, lessons and teaching methods.
• Reports to appropriate special education supervisory staff and principals.
• Provides support and special education services to students in the ECSE program.
• Performs necessary assessment and evaluation procedures for special education students.
• Provides an individualized educational program for students based upon needs identified by evaluation.
• Follows necessary due process procedures and case management responsibilities.
• Facilitates inclusive opportunities when appropriate.
• Advocates for students and assists in carrying out department and school district goals.
• Collaborates with Early Learning and district colleagues, other specialists and outside agencies.
• Supervises and directs the work of non-licensed support staff in the classroom.
• Communicates with IEP team members and families/caregivers.
• Engages actively in professional development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Minnesota Early Childhood Special Education license

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for students who are wheelchair-bound and students with other special needs.
